The Rothmans All Star XI cap presented to Bobby Moore in 1989, blue with gold wire braiding and tassel, inscribed ROTHMANS, ALL STARS, 1989.
Rothmans Football Yearbook, an annual football reference book, was published between 1970 and 2002. For many years the editors were father and daughter Jack and Glenda Rollin. Jack Rollin was soccer correspondent for the Sunday Telegraph for 21 years and has worked on all but two editions of Rothmans Football Yearbook.
To mark the 20th edition of Rothmans Football Yearbook, and in place of the customary annual Rothmans Football Awards, a distinguished panel of judges was assembled to select the "Rothmans Football Allstars XI" - the best international players to have represented their country over the last two decades. This included Bobby Moore. Rothmans commissioned special commemorative caps for the selected players.
Bought at Christie's South Kensington, 20th November 2007, as part of lot 9.
