This is a quite stunning, 1946 hand wound gents wristwatch finished in a steel coloured case. This exact model with the cal 30T2 movement was used for a host of military watches including the British Royal Navy. Of great interest, this watch was presented to an F.C. Zurich footballer for the 1946/7 season as can be seen by the engraving on the rear.Omega have long been a favourite maker of mine, an perhaps their colourful history has something to do with this appeal. If Omega strove in the inter-war years to be one of the ‘big’ players in the wristwatch industry, by this age they had certainly made it. Perhaps the most impressive of all its features, is the much sought after caliber 30T2 movement, well advanced for its age, a design that became renowned for its accuracy and reliability for the British forces in WW2 and was utilised post-WW2 by the American military.
The entire watch exhibits that delightful minimalist style that Omega often achieve quite brilliantly. The case measures some 34mm and is in good condition. The inner of the snap back case bears the reference of 2227/12 and is of course signed Omega. In keeping with the excellent condition of the case, the movement is spotlessly clean as it was just last serviced in 2011. It runs perfectly keeping good time and has a serial number of 10741821 dating the watch to 1946. It is fully signed Omega and has 15 jewels. The dial is in good, original condition and complimented with the original hands to include subsidiary seconds, all in steel. The steel hours are a mix of Arabic form and markers, all applied and please note the two-tone finish and Omega logo and signature in black print. The watch comes on a black leather strap with steel coloured buckle to match the case. Overall a stunning all original and collectable football watch in great, original condition.
This a very rare opportunity to purchase the official Manchester United Opus published by Kraken. This particular Opus is serialised as '0000' and was the first ever display copy released by the publishers and has been displayed in public spaces hence some slight wear and tear on some pages.
This would make a perfect gift for any Man Utd fan as the information that is published is staggering. At 850 pages long and with over 400,000 word, 2,000 pictures and weighing at 37 kilos this is a must buy! The official Opus is the biggest football book ever produced and has contributions by Britain's finest sports writers and photographers. As mentioned earlier in the description, there are some rips to some pages but I would say 90-95% of the pages are in good condition.
The plaque from pillar number 3, from the East End at Ashton Gate Stadium, the home of Bristol City Football Club. The plaque is being auctioned off to raise funds for Bristol City Community Trust, to help further their work in the community.
If you wish to own a piece of Bristol City's East End history then please bid here. Over the years seats were added, barriers removed and numerous players and came and went. But the plaques on the iconic pillars have stayed throughout.
Reading simply “ERECTED BY JOHN LYSAGHT LTD, BRISTOL, 1928” these plaques are the birth certificate of the stand. Founded in 1857, the eponymous John Lysaght Ltd established the Netham Ironworks at St Phillip’s, Bristol before acquiring works in Wolverhampton, Newport, Scunthorpe and Australia. In 1920 Guest, Keen and Nettlefields (GKN) acquired the company but the John Lysaght Ltd name continued trading until the late 1960s. Although founded in Bristol the John Lysaght story stretched across the globe during Victorian and Edwardian times with work in Uganda, Argentina, Venezuela and The Philippines. In fact John Lysaght Ltd plaques can still be seen on Junction Lock Bridge (1925) by The Pump House pub and on the glorious Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus in Mumbai, India.

Welcome to my auction for this extremely rare item from southampton fc. I have for sale, memorabilia from southampton fc from when my nephew worked at the dell on saturdays. When the saints closed the dell in 2001 before moving to st marys, they gave staff the chance to select certain items that they could have as a "souvenir" from the ground. My nephew was fortunate to acquire this original "seat number 165" in red and white. The seat is in excellent condition, bearing in mind their are signs of wear and tear (see photos)..
