The 1935 F.A. Cup Final was played at Wembley 27th April. Sheffield Wednesday defeated West Bromwich Albion 4-2. West Brom had equalized twice in the game before a late double-strike from Ellis Rimmer took the match away from them. He helped the club gain promotion to the First Division and won a F.A. Cup winner's medal in 1931 and a runners-up medal in 1935. He then returned to Hereford for the final part of his career.
